He is the Agile Release Train facilitator. This role is often summarized as the &#8220;leader&#8221; of all Scrum Masters in an Agile organization at scale.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-d4861c6 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"d4861c6\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-f3b5061\" data-id=\"f3b5061\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f97d2de elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"f97d2de\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Release Train Engineer missions<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a7a392d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a7a392d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The main tasks of the Release Train Engineer in a SAFe organization are :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilitate collaboration, i.e. prepare, organize and facilitate SAFe train ceremonies. For example: SoS, PI Planning or <a href=\"https:\/\/scrum-master.org\/cest-quoi-le-role-dun-product-owner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PO Sync<\/a>, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Promote coordination between teams and with other SAFe trains (external and internal train dependencies).<\/li>\n<li>Facilitate and lead the Scrum of Scrums (SoS).<\/li>\n<li>Help the team deliver value. In fact, the RTE monitors the progress of developments and helps to eliminate obstacles raised by Scrum teams during the SoS.<\/li>\n<li>Report sticking points to stakeholders<a href=\"https:\/\/scrum-master.org\/en\/how-to-become-an-safe-business-owner-in-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(Business Owners<\/a> and management) and help resolve them with the Scrum teams.<\/li>\n<li>Drive continuous improvement within the organization.<\/li>\n<li>Promote best practices in continuous integration and DevOps.<\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"fr\"><span data-language-for-alternatives=\"fr\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"en\" data-phrase-index=\"0\" data-number-of-phrases=\"1\">Coaching management, teams and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile best practices.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"fr\"><span data-language-for-alternatives=\"fr\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"en\" data-phrase-index=\"0\" data-number-of-phrases=\"1\">Facilitate the preparation and execution of PI Planning (PI stands for Program Increment).<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"fr\"><span data-language-for-alternatives=\"fr\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"en\" data-phrase-index=\"0\" data-number-of-phrases=\"1\">Encourage the continuous exploration process (via <a href=\"https:\/\/scrum-master.org\/en\/what-is-backlog-refinement-or-backlog-grooming\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Backlog Refinement<\/a> at the Agile Release Train level, for example). This will enable us to build a common, shared vision for the train.<br \/><\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>I often see my <i>bullet points<\/i> included in job descriptions for RTE job offers. In addition, I believe that significant experience in managing Agile projects is necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Generally, an RTE has several Scrum and SAFe certifications, such as :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>PSM1
